Day One

Took taxi to the airport early in the morning at about 5 am.

Food Gallery in Terminal One

After custom clearance, I decided to have breakfast in the Food Gallery located inside the transit area of Terminal 1 (left photo below). Ordered a Mee Rebus and a cup of cappuccino (right photo below). Could not remember its price, but the taste was simple for this local breakfast.
Jetstar flight

Realized that boarding gate for this Jetstar flight was at the far end of the terminal (left photo below). It took me almost 15-mins to walk to this gate. Fortunately flight 3K 511 departed on schedule at 0715 hours (right photo below). Did not order any meal onboard but instead managed to have some short naps during the journey.
The flight reached Thailand at about 0845 am.

Magic Food Point

After immigration clearance, decided to have my second breakfast at the magic food point (left photo below). Located at first floor near gate 8 of the airport building, this food court is set in a canteen style and rather small by regular standards (right photo below). However it offered local Thai food at a reasonable price compared to other pricey cafes and restaurants in the airport building.
This food court operates on a ticket system for payments. Ticket packs in value of hundreds (stapled with various denominations) can be exchanged from the cashier counter at the entrance. Once food is ordered, just tear from the ticket pack and pass the correct denominations to the stall operator. At the end of the meal, a refund from the balance tickets could be obtained from the same cashier counter.

From the wide varieties of local Thai food (left photo below), I ordered a bowl of fish ball noodles at THB 35 and a bottle of mineral water at THB 10 (right photo below). Simply liked this local taste.
Hotel Check-in

After the nice breakfast at the airport terminal, I then took the airport rail link and then BTS at Phaya Thai station to the hotel. Hotel check-in was straightforward and simple. Had some washup in the hotel room before ventured out.

Roast Coffee & Eatery

Took BTS to Thong Lo station and walked for about 10-minutes before reaching this Roast Coffee & Eatery restaurant. Located on the 4th level of The Commons at Thong Lo, it has an industrial vibe with tall ceilings like a large dining hall (left photo below). Ordered their popular 'Roast Breakfast' set that first came with two toasted slices of sourdough bread and butter (right photo below).
Next a cup of cappuccino was served (left photo below). As for the main dish, I selected salmon with scrambled eggs and bacons (right photo below).
The total cost was THB 471 including a 10% service charge and 7% VAT. The meal was good as the bacon was crispy and even the tomatoes had the taste of herbs. Definitely would recommend to those who wants to have 'café hopping' in Bangkok.

Mae Varee Mango Sticky Rice

While walking back to Thong Lo station at Soi 38, saw the well-liked Mae Varee Mango Sticky Rice stall. What caught my attention was rows of bright mangoes neatly arranged in the wooden racks (left photo below). Bought a box of Mango Sticky Rice at THB 130 to try (right photo below).

There were three different types of sticky rice to choose, including the white (original), green or purple rice which was dyed with natural ingredients. The portion was big enough for me with two big slices of cut mango and packed separately with creamy coconut milk and some roasted mung beans. The rice was well cooked till soft and the mango was not too squishy or too sweet.

Big-C Supercenter Ratchadamri

This supermarket outlet along Ratchadamri road is surely familiar by most tourists (left photo below). It is located opposite the CentralWorld shopping mall and Gaysorn Center. The actual Big-C supermarket is occupying two storeys on 2nd and 3rd floors of the mall, and offered a wide range of products from fresh produce, household consumables, home appliances, discounted fashion and souvenirs for tourists (right photo below).

Managed to buy almost THB 1,400 of items before heading back to the hotel for some washup.

Asiatique: The Riverfront

Took BTS to Saphan Taksin station and then its complimentary shuttle boat to Asiatique: The Riverfront (left photo below). Opened in April 2012, it is a large open-air mall that occupies the former docks of the East Asiatic Company. The mall also featured a 60-meters Ferris wheel which claimed to be the tallest in Bangkok (right photo below).
Retail Shops

This mall features more than 1,500 shops and stalls occupying over 4.8-hectares (photos below).
In addition, there are about 40 restaurants where most of the high-end ones are located facing the riverfront (photos below).
MangoTango

Decided to cool myself down in the warm evening after walking towards the end of the former warehouse, thus got myself a Mango Smoothie at THB 75 (left photo below) from the MangoTango shop (right photo below). It was refreshing and quenching.

The Pizza Company

Dinner was taken in the Pizza Company restaurant (left photo below) that had a comfy family-oriented dinning atmosphere (right photo below).
Ordered a spaghetti carbonara (left photo below), some barbecue chicken wings and iced lemon tea (right photo below). Total cost was THB 293 after tax and service charge. The spaghetti was average in taste but the barbecue wings were good.
After some window shopping, I decided to head back to the hotel for a good rest.

Day Two

After sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, I then took BTS to Chit Lom station. Walked for about 20-mins before reaching the famous noodle shop.

SabX2 Wanton Noodles

This wanton noodle stall was popular among Singaporeans that has been highly raved about on the internet. It is located at Phetchburi Soi 19 in Pratunam area across the Platinum Fashion Mall. The eatery is fairly clean air-conditioned and often crowded by long queue of customers early in the morning (left photo below).

Being first time customer, I ordered their famous dried wanton noodles at THB 60 to try. The wanton noodles was served with with 3 wantons, slices of char siew, vegetables, egg noodles, topped with spring onions and generous amount of deep fried pork lards (right photo below).
Taste was average but was made fragrant by the crispy pork lards. Service was rather bad and generally expensive for a small portion of the noodles. Personally felt that this stall was overrated.

BatCat Museum & Toys

Took the Khlong Saen Saep boat service to 'The Mall' and walked for about 10-mins before reaching the BatCat Museum & Toys (left photo below). This museum is near Bangkapi market and The Mall Bangkapi along Ladprao road. Owned by a private collector, this museum claimed to be the first in Asia and has collection of over 50,000 toys. Admission cost was THB 250 per adult. Besides toy display, the museum also sells limited edition toys at its entrance (right photo below).
The museum was divided into two areas, namely the Hero collection (left photo below) and Batman collection (right photo below). This place was literally a haven for toy enthusiasts and it brought back many memories when I saw those childhood toy characters in comic books or mangas. The hero collection were presented in three to four sections of the museum, starting from Transformers to Gundam robots to Pokemon, Doraemon, Marvel, DC Comics, etc. As its name suggests, a large room of the museum was dedicated to Batman Universe collection.
Following were the photos taken during this visit (video below).

Explored this museum for about an hour before leaving this place.

    Update:
This museum had been relocated to 33 Ramkhamhaeng 14 Alley, Hua Mak, Bang Kapi District, Bangkok 10240 since April 2021.

The Mall Bangkapi

Walked towards The Mall (left photo below) for lunch. This large suburban mall spans 5 floors and has items that are generally cheaper than those sold in downtown Bangkok (right photo below).
Fuji Japanese Restaurant

After skimming through the various restaurants in the mall, I decided to have my lunch in this Fuji Japanese Restaurant (left photo below). The restaurant layout was good where high partitions separated customers from other curious onlookers (right photo below).
Got myself a curry udon (left photo below) and hot green tea (right photo below). Total cost for this meal was THB 261 and taste was savory.

Which a fulfilling meal, I then took a cab by meter from the mall to downtown Bangkok which cost THB 155.

MangoTango

Had my tea break over at this MangoTango shop located at Siam Square (left photo below). Ordered a combo set at THB 140 which was refreshing for me (right photo below). The mango was undoubtedly delicious, sweet tender juicy and fragrant. While the mango pudding and ice cream were the main star which was not overly sweet, delicious and full of mango flavor.
Eathai restaurant

Took BTS to Phloen Chit station and proceeded to the ground floor at Central Embassy mall to this Eathai restaurant. Pronounced as 'Eat Thai', this food court style restaurant offered local Thai street food in an air-conditioned dinning environment (photos below).
Finest street food vendors were selected by Eathai to present the best Thai food from all 4 Thai regional cuisine – central, southern, northern, eastern (left photo below). To minimize the handling of cash, the restaurant uses card system issued to each customer which is similar to the 'Marchè' restaurant (right photo below).

Ordered a set of chicken rice at THB 65 (left photo below) and a durian sticky rice at THB 105 (right photo below). Do note that the total price includes a 5% service charge to the final bill.
The chicken rice was as good as those sold in the Pratunam area. While the durian sticky rice was a good combination and was better than the mango one. Although paying at a higher amount of money to eat street food, I was eating in an air-conditioned food court without sweating and won't get the possibility of having stomach upset.

Ratchada Night Market

Decided to explore the Ratchada Night Market in Bangkok after my early dinner (left photo below). Thus took BTS then MRT to Thailand Cultural Centre station. The night market is just located behind the Esplanade Department Store from the MRT exit 3. Besides individual vendors under colorful tentages, it has a good selection of restaurants, bars and eateries for picky tourists (right photo below).
Did not buy any as mentioned by most bloggers that it was slightly pricier compared to those sold in Chatuchak Market (photos below). Since I was going to the market the next day, I controlled myself to bypass these items.
Terminal 21

Visited this mall again where I found some stalls selling interesting products such as the fanciful ice-creams (left photo below). At the same time bought some local snacks from the 'Taokaenoi Land' (right photo below).
Took BTS back to hotel for a good rest.

Day Three

Took to BTS to Asok station, then MRT from Sukhumvit station to Kanphaeng Phet station which cost THB 36. It seemed to be expensive just to take MRT, however the station exit is just right in front of the Or Tor Kor Market.

Or Tor Kor Market

This is a renowned indoor marketplace for its fresh produce, seafood and some snacks and kitchen supplies. The area is divided by product types which makes navigation through the market rather easy (left photo below). This market is well known for its high-quality products and as such the prices are slightly higher than most typical Bangkok markets (right photo below).
The food court is located at the far end of the market. Was attracted by the duck noodle stall which offered a good selection of noodle types (left photo below). Got myself a bowl of duck noodles at THB 50 (right photo below). The soup tasted savory with sweet elements.
After the light breakfast, I then walked across the Metro Mall towards the Chatuchak weekend market.

Metro Mall at Chatuchak Park MRT station

The Metro Mall is located underground linking the MRT station with Or Tor Kor market and the Chatuchak weekend market (left photo below). This mall offered shoppers various clothes, electronic goods and beauty products in a relax and air-conditioned environment (right photo below). One advantage to shop in this mall is that its toilets are free of charge.
Chatuchak Weekend Market

Also known better as JJ market, Chatuchak Weekend Market is the largest market in Thailand with more than 15,000 stalls and 11,505 vendors divided into 27 sections. It offered a variety of different goods from plants, pets, antiques, consumer electronics, cosmetics, fresh and dry food, drinks, ceramics, furniture, home accessories, books and clothing (photos below).
Following were some of the stalls that I patronized during this trip.

Keetatat Sitthiket Pop Art

Colorful pop arts covered all the three walls of the stall (photos below). Designed by the Thai artist, these gloss acrylic wooden frames are famous for the inspirational words mentioned by its respective portrait. Cost of each small wooden frame was THB 250 but sold at cheaper price of THB 200 if bought two pieces or more.
Coconut ice-cream

The coconut ice-cream is one of the must try dessert in this weekend market. Tried the stall near to exit 2 of Kamphaeng Phet MRT station at Section 1 soi 36 (left photo below). Got myself an ice-cream with toppings of corn and peanuts at THB 40 (right photo below). There are eight toppings to select and each customer gets a cup of free coconut water for every purchase. The ice-cream had texture of a sorbet and was refreshing in a hot afternoon.
Yu Factory essential aroma oils

There are several fragrant shops in the weekend market. This Yu Factory offers a variety of home décor, chic candles, home fragrances including floral diffuser and oil burners (left photo below). Bought some 45-ml reed diffusers at THB 130 each to try (right photo below). Its aroma was not strong but emits a faint smell overtime.
Triple D Bakery

One of the more popular food souvenirs in Chatuchak. Located at Section 4 Soi 48 of the market, this small stall has three flavors of toasted bread, namely garlic, butter and sesame (left photo below). Bought two small packs at THB 40 each to sample (right photo below). It was very addictive and I could finish this small pack all at once.
Took BTS from Mo Chit station back to hotel. After some washup, I was out again for dinner.

Nara Thai Cuisine at Erawan

Nara Thai Cuisine was introduced to me by my colleague when we were in Bangkok for business trip back in 2007 (left photo below). The restaurant was well furnished with some exaggerating use of shiny decorations (right photo below).
Ordered a stir-fried noodles at THB 190 (left photo below), a Green Curry with Beef at THB 270 (right photo below), Mango sticky rice at THB 175 (bottom left photo) and a cup of Thai iced tea at THB 95 (bottom right photo). Do note that total bill included a 10% service charge and a 7% VAT.

Despite its pricey tag, the food was authentic and service in this restaurant was good.

Chang Foot Massage & Spa

Decided to have massage in Chang located near Chit Lom station (left photo below). Paid THB 300 for one hour foot massage and the experience was relaxing (right photo below). It had been quite a while since I had any foot massage.

Day Four

Had an early breakfast at 6 am and followed by checking out from the hotel. Initially wanted to take BTS then airport rail link but later decided to hail a cab to airport which cost THB 400.

Jetstar flight

The flight 3K 512 departed on time at 0925 hours. Pre-ordered my meal onboard where I was served with chicken curry rice (left photo below) and a cup of coffee (right photo below) for my lunch.

It was a smooth journey and the flight landed on Singapore at about 1250 pm. With this, it ended my four days trip to Bangkok.
